Pirates need to party like it’s 1909!

First of all how bad ass were those uniforms the Pirates and the Tigers wore?

They were terrific! And Dontrelle Willis looked perfectly at home in them. Ironically he looked awesome in the same duds that Ty Cobb wore. Chances are Ty and Dontrelle wouldn’t see eye to eye (because Ty would be trying to punch Dontrelle’s eye.)

Once again the morons who hate interleague play just don’t get it. In the middle of the season you could have the Pirates play the Nationals again… or you can bring in the Tigers and honor the 1909 World Series and the teams history.

But I covered all of that last year.

Here’s something you may not know…

The Pirates are 4 games out of a playoff spot.

Read that again.

In mid June the Pirates are a mere 4 games out.

And none of the teams ahead of them (the Brewers, Cardinals, Reds and Cubs) are exactly powerhouses.

There’s good karma sportswise in Pittsburgh this year with the Steelers and Penguins.

GO FOR THE TRIFECTA!

Why NOT try and make up 4 games and make a run at the playoffs?

Is it THAT outlandish?

Come on Pirates! No more dumping salaries… You have 3 1/2 months to make up 4 games.

I watched about 3 minutes of the game last night.

You’ll forgive me if I skip the parade.

It’s baseball season now.

There’s no NBA, no NHL, no football.

Just baseball…

The Cubs, the team everyone but your pal Sully picked to win the NL, are an even .500.

And the Giants, a team only my dad was optimistic about, has the best Wild Card record with dynamic young pitching.
