It’s VERY close to being over

No need to update the tally today, it was a blow out. And most disturbing about it was that it assures the Indians at least a split. To make up space in the standings, the Red Sox need to win series against teams like Seattle and Cleveland… not split with them.

The Red Sox are on pace to win 91 games… and it won’t be nearly enough.

It’s really winding down, Sox fans. What was the mantra we were hearing?
When players start getting healthy again, we’ll be in good shape.

And lo and behold, Drew, Buccholz, Beckett and Martinez are back.

And Youkilis and now possibly Lester are down.

The Red Sox health issues are reminding me of an old joke:

Man sees his doctor who sits him down.

Doctor: I have some bad news and some very bad news.
Patient: Well, might as well give me the bad news first.
Doctor: The lab called with your test results. They said you have 24 hours to live.
Patient: 24 HOURS! That’s terrible! WHAT could be WORSE? What’s the very bad news?
Doctor: I’ve been trying to reach you since yesterday.
