The Pirates got Mark Appel with the number 8 pick in the draft.
And now they have three of the top pitching prospects in the game once they sign Appel.
Jameson Taillon and Gerrit Cole were the top pitchers of the last two drafts and Appel was the consensus number one pick this year.
If they pan out, the Pirates could be developing a great core for the future.
