Wins are wins no matter how slim

The Red Sox, Giants and A’s combined for 4 games today.

Three were 1 run games. The other was a 2 run game. Now take run differential and all the other stats aside, all that matters in the long run is having one more run than the other team. And that teeny tiny difference was what made two of the games dodged bullets and the other two teeth grinders.

Time to update the Dodged Bullet – Teeth Grinder Tally.

An explanation of what this is all about can be found HERE.

A’S DODGED BULLET – TEETH GRINDER Tally

The A’s rallied against Felix Hernandez but couldn’t hold the lead. An odd play with 2 outs in the 10th put the Mariners on top for good, 6-4. TEETH GRINDER.

Two runs were all the A’s would get and need as Pomeranz and the bullpen led by Jim Johnson shut the door against Seattle, 2-0. DODGED BULLET

12 Dodged Bullets 13 Teeth Grinders

TOTAL: – 1

A’s and Red Sox have the night off.

Giants hope to put some more distance between themselves and the Dodgers. No pressure.
