He is no longer wearing a Yankee uniform. He now has a big ole beard. But Joba Chamberlain is still the same guy. He will still let up the big home run and give that face that just says “Oh boy… this sucks.”
Joba came in to close out in lieu of Joe Nathan and he gave the Red Sox a nice reminder of the old days.
With the Red Sox stranding a 25 man roster of runners on base, this looked like an easy Tigers sweep. But then Joba turned back the clock with David Ortiz and suddenly a Tiger lead turned into a Sox advantage with Koji on the mound.
The losing streak is mercifully over. Hey! Time for ANOTHER 7 game winning streak.
Meanwhile the Giants survive a pair of Curtis Granderson homers and the A’s were only threatened by flying bats.
