The A’s are the best team in baseball. No matter what metric you use, it seems to add up that way.
Last year the Red Sox were the World Champions. They sure don’t look like they are going to be repeating this October. Heck, they may not even be putting a winning product on the field when the season is over.
They sure are not now. And when Josh Donaldson homered in the first to make it a 3-0 A’s lead, there was a sense of inevitability about tonight.
Even when the Red Sox scored… even when the Red Sox tied the game… even when there was 2 outs in the 8th and the score was still even… you got the sense that Oakland was going to find a way to do it.
And they did, thanks for former Red Sox Coco Crisp and current friend of the Sully Baseball Daily Podcast Sean Doolittle.
Two teams are crossing each other… one on the rise and the other in the fall and will be playing in the fall.
Time to update the Dodged Bullet/Teeth Grinder tally.
