They Are Called “Wins”, Jeff. They happen in Oakland

For more than 1/2 the season, Jeff Samardzija (I think that is the spelling) pitched well enough to make the All Star team as a member of the Chicago Cubs.

He has 18 starts in 2014. 17 with the Cubs. 1 with the A’s.

So roughly 6% of his starts are as a member of the Oakland Athletics.

And yet 33% of his wins are in an A’s uniform.

2-7 with a terrific ERA with the Cubs.

1-0 with the A’s. THIS is what run support looks like. Sure the O.co isn’t the friendly confines of Wrigley. Sure the Ivy has been replaced with raw sewage.

But there is also a chance to win a World Series there. Wrigley? Not so much.

Meanwhile the last team to win a World Series, the Red Sox, finds new ways to enrage me and the Giants might have their ace back.

Time to update the Dodged Bullet/Teeth Grinder tally.

An explanation of what this is all about can be found HERE.

RED SOX DODGED BULLET – TEETH GRINDER Tally

The Orioles took a 6-1 lead but the Red Sox put together a 5 run 7th to tie the game. But poor base running and another awful Mujica performance gave the Orioles a 7-6  win in the 12th. TEETH GRINDER

Jeff Locke, Corey Kluber, Paul Goldschmidt, Desmond Jennings, Jesse Hahn, Matt Adams andTrevor Plouffe   all added to their totals for Who Owns Baseball.
