Shaky start is the Giants undoing

Runs count as much in the first as they do in the 9th. And if a team doesn’t score a lot of them, it is tough to win.

Basic facts that came back to haunt the Giants. Tim Lincecum let up a 2 run homer in the first but in the end gave the Giants a solid 7 inning performance. Timmy is still back.

But with Belt out, the bats did not take their talents to South Beach on Sunday and a wild pitch by Lincecum was the difference. Teeth Grinder indeed.

They are now tied for first after the Dodgers beat the Cardinals and head off to Philadelphia, where everyone including the Benjamin Franklin impersonators are rumored to be traded.

Time to update the Dodged Bullet/Teeth Grinder tally.
