The Padres are the hottest NL team in August?

The Rays are at .500?

The Mariners shooting past the Tigers?

What kind of craziness is going on here.

That plus my dad’s agony watching the Giants on this episode of The Sully Baseball Daily Podcast.

Kole Calhoun, Cody Asche, Johnny Cueto, Corey Kluber, Adrian Beltre, Clay Buchholz, Yasiel Puig and Madison Bumgarner all added to their totals for Who Owns Baseball?

Losses don’t get more stupid than that Giants game

photo

The Giants were up 3-0. Things looked good. They just needed to win and they would leap frog Pittsburgh into one of the 2 Wild Card spots.

Instead there was a game tying homer in the 8th. And inexplicably Pablo Sandoval was sent home on a hit to right where he had NO CHANCE to score. He was out by almost 90 feet.

And Javier Lopez threw to the wrong base in extra innings.

And Chase Utley was hit by a pitch that didn’t even look like it hit the AIR near his body!

This one will sting. The Phillies, a dead from the neck up team, beat the Giants the only way they CAN beat a team: Make them play dumb baseball.

That is the PHILLIES brand.

Time to update the Dodged Bullet/Teeth Grinder tally.

An explanation of what this is all about can be found HERE.
