He’s good.
I mean he is VERY good. As in “Probably going to the Hall of Fame” good.
King Felix Hernandez seems to be in the top 3 in just about every single category there can be for a pitcher. And today, with the Mariners needing a win on the road and facing another damn good pitcher in Jon Lester, he went 8 innings, allowing a run on a solo homer, letting up just 3 hits and lowering his ERA to 2.18.
A big game pitcher came up big and heaven help any team facing him in a one game playoff.
Heaven hasn’t been helping the A’s who dropped the final two to the Mariners by 1 run and are running out of time to get their act together.
This team can not be a one and done team… or can they?
I guess I should update the Dodged Bullet/Teeth Grinder tally.
An explanation of what this is all about can be found HERE.

GIANTS DODGED BULLET – TEETH GRINDER Tally
Buster Posey gave the Giants a 2-1 lead in the 5th, but then the roof caved in. The Rockies bombarded Vogelsong and scored 4 in the 5th and 4 in the 6th to win the finale, 9-2. TEETH GRINDER
52 Dodged Bullets 48 Teeth Grinders
TOTAL: +4

A’S DODGED BULLET – TEETH GRINDER Tally
Jon Lester pitched 8 strong innings, but he let up 2 solo homers compared to Felix Hernandez letting up 1 solo homer. In the end, that was the difference as the A’s lost to Seattle, 2-1. TEETH GRINDER
49 Dodged Bullets 47 Teeth Grinders
TOTAL: +2

RED SOX DODGED BULLET – TEETH GRINDER Tally
Dodged Bullets 59 Teeth Grinders 71
TOTAL: -12
Giants have passed the A’s in Dodged Bullet/Teeth Grinder. Who would have thought that?
There is no Bay Area Baseball tomorrow… maybe that is for the best.
