Lots of great baseball was played yesterday, not that you would know it if you went to any place that showed sports.

A trip to Dave and Busters drove home the fact that the baseball regular season needs to end on Labor Day.

It is a seasonal episode of The Sully Baseball Daily Podcast

Nelson Cruz, Adrian Gonzalez, Carlos Carrasco, Adam Wainwright, James Loney, Scott Carroll, Jedd Gyorko and Mat Latos all added to their totals for Who Owns Baseball?

So much for the A’s momentum

Everything felt so good with the A’s on Sunday. They had a come from behind win, much needed relief and maybe some momentum would be built.

They came from behind yesterday and were 2 outs away from taking back to back from the Astros. (Yes, beating the Astros has become an achievement for the A’s now.)

And then a nice bullpen meltdown complete with a bases loaded walk to fall behind and the A’s needed a 9th inning miracle.

This time there was no Chad Qualls to beat up and the A’s lost again… to the Astros… at home.

The bright side? They are still a playoff team! And maybe the law of averages will be on their side in the post season.

But they’ve dropped 11 games in the standings in a little more than a month and doing so with tight ball game after tight ballgame.

Our teeth are grinding to the gums!

I guess I should update the Dodged Bullet/Teeth Grinder tally.

An explanation of what this is all about can be found HERE.

All 3 won on Saturday. All 3 lost on Sunday. Thus is the nature of Baseball.
