Memorial Stadium in Baltimore, 1991 – Sully Baseball Daily Photo at Noon for January 25, 2018

I’ve never been to Camden Yards. But in 1991, I was in New York and knew that there were only a handful of games to be played in Memorial Stadium.

I took a train down and saw a meaningless game in a wonderful ballpark. There was no reason to tear this park down. Hell, they could have airlifted it to Philadelphia and replaced the Vet.

Either way, the stadium is now dust and forgotten as a few generations only know Camden Yards. But remember, the Colts and Orioles both called this neighborhood park home and both won titles there.

It was worth the train trip.
