My wife and I were Las Vegas just before Christmas, 2013. While we were there, I stopped by the Bellagio sports betting book. (Is that what it is called? I don’t gamble often.)
I put $20 on the 2014 Marlins to win the World Series and $20 on the Astros to win the 2014 World Series. Both were 200-1 shots at the time.
I wonder if I could have bet on the 2017 Astros to win the World Series. I could have made some good money.
Meanwhile, the Marlins remain a sucker bet.
