Richmond County Bank Park in Staten Island, 2016 – Sully Baseball Daily Photo at Noon for May 8, 2018

I never saw a Staten Island Yankee game. I have no idea why I didn’t. I lived in New York for a long period of my life and from 1999 to 2004, I had a chance to see them.

I didn’t have kids then. I wasn’t married for most of those years.

I went to countless games in the Bronx, in Flushing and even Cyclone games in Brooklyn.

I also loved the Staten Island Ferry and the ballpark was right off of the ferry. Future Yankees like Robinson Cano and Brett Gardner cut their teeth there.

Yet for whatever reason, I never did.

When I visited New York in 2016 with my family, I took my kids on the Ferry and walked over to the park. It looked great, with a wonderful view of downtown Manhattan.

And I am not going to lie to you. I got frustrated. I blew a chance to see some baseball here in summers of the past.

Some day, when I go back to New York and FINALLY see games in New Yankee Stadium and CitiField, I will also take the ferry and see a game there and make up for lost time.
