Let’s see owned baseball on August 21, 2019

Earning Full WOBs:

Nicholas Castellanos led a strong Cubs offense with 4 hits, including a homer in the 12-11 slug fest over the Giants.

Patrick Corbin gave the Nationals 8 strong innings, allowing no runs and striking out 4 in the 11-1 pounding of the Pirates.

Lucas Giolito threw a complete game shutout, allowing 3 hits while striking out 12 as the White Sox blanked the Twins, 4-0.

Kevin Kiermaier went 2 for 4 with a stolen base, 4 RBI and a game tying 9th inning homer as the Rays walked off against the Mariners, 8-7.

Earning 1/2 WOBs:

Robinson Chirinos got 4 hits, including a homer in the Astros 2-1 loss to Detroit.

Junior Fernández gave the Cardinals 2 key innings of no hit shutout relief and a chance to come back against Milwaukee. They would fall short, 5-3.

Justin Verlander tossed a complete game, striking out 11 and allowing only 2 hits. But the Astros were edged by the Tigers, 2-1.

Mike Yastrzemski got 3 hits, including a homer and a double, and several key defensive plays but the Giants dropped a wild and heart breaking 12-11 game to the Cubs.
