Let’s see owned baseball on September 14, 2019

Earning Full WOBs:

Jacob deGrom threw 7 shutout innings, striking out 8 Dodgers and set up the dramatic 3-0 Mets victory.

Brett Gardner homered twice and added another hit to lead the Yankees to an easy 13-3 blow out of Toronto.

Félix Hernández turned back the clock and gave the Mariners a vintage performance, going 7 innings, allowing 1 run and 5 hits. He did not get the decision but helped set up the 10 inning 2-1 walk off win over the White Sox.

Nico Hoerner got 3 hits, including a homer, driving in 3 and scoring 3, as the Cubs pummeled Pittsburgh, 14-1.

Earning 1/2 WOBs:

Tommy Edman singled and homered in the Cardinals 5-2 loss to Milwaukee.

Mike Clevinger struck out 10 Twins over 8 innings, allowing only 2 runs. But the Indians were blanked in the double header opener, 2-0.

Oscar Mercado reached base 3 times in the opening 2-0 Indians loss to the Twins. In the nightcap, he got 3 more hits, including a homer, driving in 2, but Cleveland lost that game as well, 9-5.

Hyun-Jin Ryu found his ace groove, blanking the Mets over 7 innings of 2 hit ball. The Dodgers bullpen would lose the shutout and the 3-0 game.
