Let’s see owned baseball on September 20, 2019

Earning Full WOBs:

Ronald Acuña Jr. reached base 4 times, including a homer, to power past San Francisco, 6-0 and capture the NL East title for the Braves.

Carlos Correa continued to get into post season shape by hitting 2 homers, driving in 3, as the Astros topped the Angels, 6-4.

Mike Fiers threw 8 shutout innings, allowing 2 hits and striking out 5 as the A’s blanked the Rangers, 8-0.

Mike Foltynewicz capped off his up and down season with a brilliant 8 inning, 3 hit shutout domination of San Francisco and earning the 6-0 decision for the Braves NL East clincher.

Earning 1/2 WOBs:

Starlin Castro got 3 hits, including a homer, scoring twice, in the Marlins 6-4 loss to Washington.

Eric Lauer struck out 9 Diamondbacks in 6 innings of work, holding them to 2 hits and 2 runs. But he was on the wrong end of a 9-0 shutout of the Padres.

Mitch Moreland homered twice, including a game tying 2 run shot in the 9th. But Boston dropped the 5-4 final in extra innings.

Rick Porcello threw 6 shutout innings, striking out 6 Rays and walking none. The Red Sox bullpen would lose the 5-4 game in the 11th.
