Let’s see owned baseball on September 21, 2019

Earning Full WOBs:

Trent Grisham collected 3 hits, including a homer, walked, stole a base, drove in 3 and scored 2 to push the red hot Brewers to an easy 10-1 victory over the Pirates.

James Paxton struck out 7 Blue Jays over 6 innings, allowing 1 unearned run to tune up for the playoffs with a 7-2 decision for the Yankees.

Marcus Semien reached base 6 times, homered and drove in 2 and scored 2, to power the A’s closer to the playoffs with a 12-3 pounding of Texas.

Stephen Strasburg tossed 7 shutout innings, allowing 3 hits while striking out 6 Marlins en route to a 10-4 final for Washington.

Earning 1/2 WOBs:

Tony Kemp came off the bench to hit a dramatic 2 run homer in the 7th to give the Cubs the lead. The Cardinals would storm back in the 9th in the wild 9-8 slugfest.

LaMonte Wade, Jrgot on base 3 times, including a homer, but the Twins bullpen melted down and the Royals pulled away, 12-5.

Ryan Weber threw 2 2/3 shutout innings, striking out 3 Rays and allowing 1 hit and no walks. The Red Sox bullpen would blow an 11th inning lead and drop the 5-4 game.

Zack Wheeler held the Reds to 1 earned run and 1 unearned run over 7 strong innings but the Mets bullpen blew the devastating 3-2 game.
