Let’s see owned baseball on September 24, 2019

Earning Full WOBs:

Gerrit Cole fanned 14 Mariners over 7 shutout innings to set the single season strikeout mark in Astros history and earned the 3-0 decision.

Michael Conforto homered twice, including a game winning shot in the 8th, to help the Mets keep their slim playoff hopes alive beating the Marlins 5-4 in extra innings.

Mike Leake held St. Louis to 1 run over 6 innings. He was long gone from the game when the Diamondbacks walked off 3-2 in 19 innings.

José Ramírez continued his playoff tune up by smacking a pair of homers, driving in 7, to help the Indians blank the White Sox, 11-0.

Earning 1/2 WOBs:

Elvis Andrus reached base 4 times, driving in 2 and scoring 2 runs but the Rangers dropped the 12-10 slug fest with Boston.

Jack Flaherty took a no hitter into the 7th and finished with 7 innings of 1 hit, shutout ball, striking out 11 Diamondbacks. The Cardinals bullpen blew the lead in the 9th and the game went on for a crazy 19 innings before Arizona walked off, 3-2.

Brad Miller homered twice, driving in 4 runs, in the 6-5 Phillies loss to the Nationals in the double header nightcap. He had gone 1 for 3 in the 4-1 opening game defeat.

Spencer Turnbull held the Twins to 2 runs over 6 innings but took the hard luck 4-2 decision for Detroit.
