Who Owned October (#WOO) – Tallies Updated For NL Division Series Game 3, October 6, 2019

MLB on TBS

The Braves were down to their last strike and now they are a game away from the NLCS. Meanwhile the Nationals bullpen had a meltdown for the ages and the idea of a Washington NLCS might have imploded.

Each winning team for every post season game gets a pitcher and a hitter who earn a full WOO(Who Owns October.)

And at my discretion, I award a 1/2 WOO’S to a worthy player on the losing team.

But the World Series deserves its own stats. WOWS (Who Owns the World Series.)

At the end of the post season, we will see who had the highest WOO total as a pitcher and a hitter. The WOWS total will be kept separately. Each game now counts towards both tallies.

A complete description of the rules can be found HERE.

From October 6
2019 NL Division Series Game 3:

Receiving 1 WOO

Russell Martin hit the go ahead double, walked and launched a back breaking homer to led the Dodgers past the Nationals, 10-4.

Hyun-Jin Ryu shook off a shaky first to give the Dodgers 5 innings, allowing 2 runs, and earned the 10-4 decision over the Nationals.

Mike Soroka held the Cardinals to 1 run and 2 hits over 7 innings, striking out 7 and walking none. He did not get the decision but set up the wild 3-1 Braves comeback.

Dansby Swanson got 3 hits including a 2 out, 9th inning double to tie the game and set up the Braves dramatic 3-1 victory in St. Louis.

Receiving 1/2 WOO

Marcell Ozuna doubled, singled and scored the Cardinals’ only run in the 3-1 loss to the Braves.

Aníbal Sánchez gave the Nationals 5 strong innings, striking out 9 while allowing only 1 run. The Dodgers would tee off on the Washington relievers to win 10-4.

Juan Soto got on base 3 times, including a 2 run homer, in the Nationals 10-4 defeat by the Dodgers.

Adam Wainwright took a shutout into the 8th, finishing with 7 2/3 scoreless frames, striking out 8 Atlanta batters. The Cardinals bullpen melted down in the 9th, leading to a 3-1 final.
