Who Owned October (#WOO) – Tallies Updated For NL Division Series Game 5, October 9, 2019

rendon

Richard Mackson-USA TODAY Sports

The Cardinals took care of business early. The Nationals needed extra innings to get it done. Now we have an NLCS set up that NOBODY saw coming.

Each winning team for every post season game gets a pitcher and a hitter who earn a full WOO(Who Owns October.)

And at my discretion, I award a 1/2 WOO’S to a worthy player on the losing team.

But the World Series deserves its own stats. WOWS (Who Owns the World Series.)

At the end of the post season, we will see who had the highest WOO total as a pitcher and a hitter. The WOWS total will be kept separately. Each game now counts towards both tallies.

A complete description of the rules can be found HERE.

From October 9
2019 NL Division Series Game 5:

Receiving 1 WOO

Patrick Corbin got 4 critical outs, striking out 3, to help the Nationals push the game into extra innings and upset the Dodgers, 7-3.

Jack Flaherty struck out 8 Braves in 6 innings, allowing 1 run, as the Cardinals cruised to a Series clinching 13-1 laugher in Atlanta.

Anthony Rendon hit 2 doubles, including one to spark the 10th inning rally, and homered off of Kershaw to help the Nationals win the game 7-3 and the series over Los Angeles.

Kolten Wong reached base 3 times, including a double, scoring twice and driving in 2 as the Cardinals finished the Division Series with a 13-1 blow out of the Braves.

Receiving 1/2 WOO

Walker Buehler dominated the Nationals, striking out 7 in 6 2/3 innings, allowing 1 run. The Dodgers bullpen would melt down in the 7-3 final.

Josh Donaldson homered to give Braves their lone highlight in the 13-1 season ending loss to St. Louis.

Max Muncy hit a 2 run homer in the first that put the Nationals on their heels early. The Dodgers would blow the lead late and the 7-3 game in 10 innings.

Josh Tomlin gave the Braves 2 1/3 scoreless innings but it was too little too late as the Cardinals rampaged to a 13-1 final.
