What a night for Nationals fans. And who would have guessed that Howie Kendrick’s grand slam against Los Angeles would be his SECOND biggest post season hit?
Each winning team for every post season game gets a pitcher and a hitter who earn a full WOO(Who Owns October.)
And at my discretion, I award a 1/2 WOO’S to a worthy player on the losing team.
But the World Series deserves its own stats. WOWS (Who Owns the World Series.)
At the end of the post season, we will see who had the highest WOO total as a pitcher and a hitter. The WOWS total will be kept separately. Each game now counts towards both tallies.
A complete description of the rules can be found HERE.
From October 30
2019 World Series Game 7:
Receiving 1 WOO and WOWS
Patrick Corbin came out of the Washington bullpen to throw 3 critical shutout innings, allowing 2 hits and walking none to earn the 6-2 clinching decision in Houston.
Howie Kendrick reached base 3 times including a dramatic 7th inning, come from behind 2 run homer that put the Nationals over the Astros for good in the 6-2 World Series finale.
Receiving 1/2 WOO and WOWS
Zack Greinke took a one hit shutout into the 7th, finishing with 6 1/3 innings, 2 hits and 2 runs charged to him while striking out 3 Nationals. The Astros bullpen melted down and dropped the 6-2 final.
Yuli Gurriel scored both of Houston’s runs, including a second inning homer, in the 6-2 loss to the champion Nationals.
