My my my… neither series is over. Are we going to see TWO Game 7’s
Who owned October on October 16?
Each winning team for every post season game gets a pitcher and a hitter who earn a full WOO(Who Owns October.)
And at my discretion, I award a 1/2 WOO’S to a worthy player on the losing team.
But the World Series deserves its own stats. WOWS (Who Owns the World Series.)
At the end of the post season, we will see who had the highest WOO total as a pitcher and a hitter. The WOWS total will be kept separately. Each game now counts towards both tallies.
A complete description of the rules can be found HERE.
From October 16, 2020 –
GAME 5 of the NLCS and GAME 6 of the ALCS
Receiving 1 WOO
José Altuve reached base 4 times, scoring twice and driving in another to help the Astros stay alive and tie the series with the Rays, 7-4.
Will Smith hit a come from behind 3 run home run to put the Dodgers on top and potentially saved the season in the 7-3 victory over Atlanta.
Blake Treinen threw 2 shutout innings to earn the 7-3 decision for the Dodgers over Atlanta.
Framber Valdez threw 6 strong innings, striking out 9 Rays batters and allowed only 1 run as the Astros survived in the 7-4 win.
Receiving 1/2 WOO
Freddie Freeman doubled twice, scoring twice, but the Braves came up short to Los Angeles, 7-3.
Aaron Loup struck out both batters he faced but the Rays dropped the 7-4 game to Houston.
Manuel Margot homered twice in the Rays 7-4 loss to Houston.
A. J. Minter did the job as the opener, giving the Braves 3 shutout innings, striking out 7 Dodgers and walking none. He was long gone when Atlanta’s bullpen lost the 7-3 game.
