Who Owned October (#WOO) Tallies Updated for AL Division Series Game 4 and NL Division Series Game 3 – October 11, 2021

Matt Stone/MediaNews Group/Boston Herald

The Red Sox move on and the Giants and Braves are knocking on the door.

Who owned October on October 11?

Each winning team for every post season game gets a pitcher and a hitter who earn a full WOO(Who Owns October.)

And at my discretion, I award a 1/2 WOO’S to a worthy player on the losing team.

But the World Series deserves its own stats. WOWS (Who Owns the World Series.)

At the end of the post season, we will see who had the highest WOO total as a pitcher and a hitter. The WOWS total will be kept separately. Each game now counts towards both tallies.

A complete description of the rules can be found HERE.

From October 11, 2021 –

AL DIVISION SERIES GAME 4 and NL DIVISION SERIES GAME 3

Receiving 1 WOO

Ian Anderson threw 5 innings, allowing 3 hits, no walks and no runs, striking out 6 Brewers and earning the 3-0 decision for the Braves.

Camilo Doval faced the pressure of the final 2 innings of a critical playoff game and kept the Dodgers scoreless to earn the 1-0 save for the Giants.

Kike Hernandez ended the Division Series with a walk off sacrifice fly to send the Red Sox to the ALCS with a 6-5 victory over the Rays.

Evan Longoria’s 5th inning home run was the only scoring in the Giants 1-0 nail biting win against the Dodgers.

Joc Pederson hit his second pinch hit home run of the Division Series, accounting for all the runs in Atlanta’s 3-0 win over Milwaukee.

Eduardo Rodriguez fanned 6 Rays in 5 solid innings, setting up the Red Sox 6-5 clincher.

Receiving 1/2 WOO

Willy Adames got a pair of hits but the Brewers were blanked by the Braves, 3-0.

Randy Arozarena collected 2 hits including a game tying single in the 6-5 Rays loss in Boston.

Andrew Kittredge gave the Rays 2 shutout and hitless innings but they lost the 6-5 game and the series to the Red Sox.

Freddy Peralta was cruising with 4 shutout innings, striking out 5 Braves. But he was lifted for a pinch hitter to spark Milwaukee’s offense. The move backfired and the Brewers were shutout 3-0.

Max Scherzer was as advertised, giving the Dodgers a 7 innings gem, holding the Giants to 3 hits, 1 walk and 1 run while striking out 10. He was saddled with a hard luck 1-0.

Chris Taylor reached on a walk and showed dazzling run saving defense but the Dodgers fell short against the Giants, 1-0.
