Who Owned October (#WOO) Tallies Updated for ALCS Game 4 and NLCS Game 3 – October 19, 2021

Wally Skalij / Los Angeles Times

Who owned October on October 19?

Each winning team for every post season game gets a pitcher and a hitter who earn a full WOO(Who Owns October.)

And at my discretion, I award a 1/2 WOO’S to a worthy player on the losing team.

But the World Series deserves its own stats. WOWS (Who Owns the World Series.)

At the end of the post season, we will see who had the highest WOO total as a pitcher and a hitter. The WOWS total will be kept separately. Each game now counts towards both tallies.

A complete description of the rules can be found HERE.

From October 19, 2021 –

ALCS GAME 4 and NLCS GAME 3

Receiving 1 WOO

Jose Altuve homered to lead off the 8th inning, tying the game and added a run in the 9th as the Astros stunned the Red Sox, 9-2.

Cody Bellinger hit a series turning 3 run game tying home run in the 8th, setting up the Dodgers dramatic 6-5 win over the Braves.

Kenley Jansen struck out the side in the 9th, sealing the Dodgers 6-5 edging of the Braves.

Cristian Javier threw 3 key shutout innings, striking out 3 Red Sox and kept the Astros in the game long enough to take the 9-2 final.

Receiving 1/2 WOO

Xander Bogaerts hit a 2 run homer and added a double but the rest of Boston’s bats were dead in the 9-2 defeat to Houston.

Freddie Freeman reached base 4 times, scoring a run, in the Braves 6-5 loss to the Dodgers.

Charlie Morton wiggled out of early trouble to throw 5 strong innings, fanning 5 Dodgers. The Braves bullpen would give up the lead and the 6-5 game.

Nick Pivetta threw 5 strong innings, allowing 1 run and 2 hits, striking out 3 Astros. But the Red Sox bullpen imploded and dropped the 9-2 game.
