Who Owned October (WOO) – Updated for October 12, 2022

(Jason Getz / Jason.Getz@ajc.com)

One game was a pitchers duel. One became a battle of the bullpens. Both NL Division Series are tied and a goose had the best seat in the house for one of them.

Who owned October on October 12?

Each winning team for every post season game gets a pitcher and a hitter who earn a full WOO(Who Owns October.)

And at my discretion, I award a 1/2 WOO’S to a worthy player on the losing team.

But the World Series deserves its own stats. WOWS (Who Owns the World Series.)

At the end of the post season, we will see who had the highest WOO total as a pitcher and a hitter. The WOWS total will be kept separately. Each game now counts towards both tallies.

A complete description of the rules can be found HERE.

From October 12, 2022 –

NL DIVISION SERIES GAME 2

Receiving 1 WOO

Josh Hader got a 4 out save to seal the Padres 5-3 series tying win against the Dodgers.

Manny Machado doubled and homered in San Diego’s 5-3 victory over Los Angeles.

Austin Riley got an RBI hit and made a circus highlight reel catch in the Braves 3-0 final over Philadelphia.

Kyle Wright dominated the Phillies with 6 shutout innings, fanning 6 and earning the 3-0 decision for Atlanta.

Receiving 1/2 WOO

Yency Almonte struck out the side in an inning of scoreless relief but the damage was done as the Padres topped the Dodgers, 5-3.

Freddie Freeman reached base 3 times, including a home run and a double, but the Dodgers fell to San Diego, 5-3.

Bryce Harper doubled but the Phillies were blanked by the Braves, 3-0.

Zack Wheeler took a shutout into the 6th but then gave up 3 runs and was saddled with the hard luck 3-0 Atlanta loss to Philadelphia.
