Who Owned October (WOO) – Updated for October 22, 2022

Three of the 4 teams that played on Saturday had their bats come up big time. And the Astros had their way with the poor hitting Yankee squad.

Who owned October on October 22?

Each winning team for every post season game gets a pitcher and a hitter who earn a full WOO(Who Owns October.)

And at my discretion, I award a 1/2 WOO’S to a worthy player on the losing team.

But the World Series deserves its own stats. WOWS (Who Owns the World Series.)

At the end of the post season, we will see who had the highest WOO total as a pitcher and a hitter. The WOWS total will be kept separately. Each game now counts towards both tallies.

A complete description of the rules can be found HERE.

NL CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES GAME 4

AL CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES GAME 3

Receiving 1 WOO

Connor Brogdon stopped the bleeding and gave the Phillies 2 1/3 critical innings of relief to set up the 10-6 win over the Padres.

Rhys Hoskins homered twice to help the Phillies survive the wild 10-6 slugfest with San Diego.

Cristian Javier pitched into the 6th, allowing 1 hit and no runs over 5 1/3 innings to earn the 5-0 decision for the Astros over the Yankees.

Christian Vazquez got a key 2 run single and threw out a base stealer as the Astros rolled to a 5-0 win over the Yankees.

Receiving 1/2 WOO

Gerrit Cole struck out 7 Astros in 5 plus innings but took the 5-0 loss for the Yankees.

Giancarlo Stanton doubled but the Yankees were blanked by the Astros, 5-0.

Nick Martinez came into the game in the first inning and no outs and shut out the Phillies for 3 innings of relief. The rest of the Padres bullpen faltered in the 10-6 loss.

Juan Soto hit a go ahead 2 run home run that the Padres bullpen could not make stand up as they fell to Philadelphia, 10-6.
