Clutch pitching and dazzling defense helped the Astros take a 3-2 series lead… but a familiar name drove in the Game Winning Run and Owned October and the World Series.
Who owned October on November 3?
Each winning team for every post season game gets a pitcher and a hitter who earn a full WOO(Who Owns October.)
And at my discretion, I award a 1/2 WOO’S to a worthy player on the losing team.
But the World Series deserves its own stats. WOWS (Who Owns the World Series.)
At the end of the post season, we will see who had the highest WOO total as a pitcher and a hitter. The WOWS total will be kept separately. Each game now counts towards both tallies.
A complete description of the rules can be found HERE.
From November 3, 2022 –
WORLD SERIES GAME 5
Receiving 1 WOWS and WOO
Jeremy Pena hit a go ahead home run along with a double and a single to lead the Astros past the Phillies, 3-2.
Ryan Pressly recorded a nail biting 5 out save to preserve the 3-2 Astros win over Philadelphia.
Receiving 1/2 WOWS and WOO
Connor Brogdon gave the Phillies 2 shutout innings out of the pen in their 3-2 loss to Houston.
Bryce Harper reached base 4 times, including a double, but was never driven in as the Phillies were edged by the Astros, 3-2.
