The Reds couldn’t hit. The Indians couldn’t score and the Twins and Blue Jays couldn’t get out of their way. Meanwhile the Astros, Rays and Yankees move on.
Who owned October on the last day of September?
Each winning team for every post season game gets a pitcher and a hitter who earn a full WOO(Who Owns October.)
And at my discretion, I award a 1/2 WOO’S to a worthy player on the losing team.
But the World Series deserves its own stats. WOWS (Who Owns the World Series.)
At the end of the post season, we will see who had the highest WOO total as a pitcher and a hitter. The WOWS total will be kept separately. Each game now counts towards both tallies.

Receiving 1 WOO
Sandy Alcantara pitched into the 7th, allowing 1 run over 6 2/3 innings striking out 4 Cubs to get the 5-1 win for Miami.
Randy Arozarena reached base 4 times, scoring twice and driving in another to lead Tampa Bay to a clinching 8-2 victory of the Blue Jays.
Chris Bassitt allowed 1 run over 7 strong innings to earn the 5-3 decision for the A’s over the White Sox.
Mookie Betts doubled twice, scored a run and drove in another as the Dodgers doubled up the Brewers, 4-2.
Carlos Correa got 2 hits including a home run to push the Astros past the Twins, 3-1.
Corey Dickerson turned the series around with a come from behind three run homer that put the Marlins ahead of the Cubs for good in their 5-1 win.
Freddie Freeman hit a walk off single in the bottom of the 13th to drive in the only run of the game as the Braves blanked the Reds, 1-0.
Max Fried held the Reds scoreless for 7 strong innings to set up Atlanta’s 1-0, 13 inning shutout.
Tyler Glasnow struck out 8 Blue Jays in 6 innings to push the Rays to a clinching 8-2 final.
Chad Green struck out 3 Indians in 1 1/3 innings of shutout relief in the Yankees 10-9 slugfest victory in Cleveland.
Christian Javier threw 3 innings of no hit shutout ball to earn the 3-1 decision for the Astros over the Twins.
Yadier Molina got 3 hits, scoring twice, as the Cardinals stunned the Padres 7-4 in the opener.
Alex Reyes threw a 4 out save, retiring all 4 batters he faced, to seal the Cardinals 7-4 win over the Padres.
Marcus Semien hit a 2 run home run in the A’s 5-3 win over the White Sox.
Julio Urías tossed 3 shutout innings, striking out 5, to earn the 4-2 decision for the Dodgers.
Gio Urshela hit a grand slam, added a double and started a critical double play to help the Yankees eliminate the Indians with a 10-9 slugfest.

Orlando Arcia brought the Brewers back into the game with a 2 run homer but they would fall to the Dodgers, 4-2.
Trevor Bauer dominated the Braves into the 8th, finishing with 7 2/3 innings, allowing 2 hits, walking none and striking out 12. He was long gone when the Reds bullpen allowed the Braves to walk off, 1-0, in 13.
José Berríos threw 5 strong innings, allowing 1 run and striking out 4 Astros. The Twins bullpen dropped the 3-1 final.
Nick Castellanos collected 3 hits, including a double, but could not be driven in as the Reds were shutout by the Braves, 1-0.
Jimmy Cordero stopped the A’s attack with 2 2/3 shutout innings but the White Sox could not come all the way back and fell, 5-3.
Nelson Cruz hit an RBI double and in the end drove in the only two runs the Twins could produce in the series as they were eliminated by the Astros, 3-1.
Yasmani Grandal got on base 3 times and hit a 2 run home run but the White Sox came up just short to the A’s, 5-3.
Ian Happ homered and added another hit in the Cubs 5-1 loss to the Marlins.
Kyle Hendricks kept the Marlins scoreless through 6 but allowed 3 in the 7th to put the Cubs behind the Marlins for good in the 5-1 defeat.
Danny Jansen homered twice in the Blue Jays 8-2 defeat by Tampa Bay.
Nate Pearson struck out 5 Rays in 2 innings, retiring all 6 batters he faced. But the Blue Jays fell, 8-2.
Tommy Pham singled and doubled in the Padres 7-4 loss to the Cardinals.
Drew Pomeranz pitched a 1-2-3 inning but the Padres were beaten by the Cardinals, 7-4.
José Ramírez doubled twice and walked, driving in 3 runs but the Indians dropped the heart crushing 10-9 game to the Yankees.
Nick Wittgren was one of the only Cleveland pitchers to do their job in the whole series, striking out 3 Yankees in 1 1/3 shutout innings of relief during the 10-9 series ending loss.
Eric Yardley stopped the bleeding by giving the Brewers 2 1/3 shutout innings in relief but the Dodgers held on to a 4-2 win.
