A few days before I got married, my dad and I went to Game 2 of the AL Division Series together. The A’s clobbered by beloved Red Sox but I had a bonding time with my dad. (The Red Sox would win the series only to have the heart break of the Aaron Boone game.)

Happy Father’s Day, Poppy. Glad we have so many memories like this.

Here we are sitting in the upper deck of Yankee Stadium in 1980. My brother Ted and I are wearing Red Sox jackets because… well… we were fans.

My dad looks pleased.

By the way, it is my brother’s birthday today. Happy birthday, Ted.
