WHO OWNED OCTOBER (#WOO) – TALLIES UPDATED FOR NL DIVISION SERIES GAME 2 and AL DIVISION SERIES GAME 3, October 7 , 2020

The Braves and Rays are on the verge of clinching. The A’s got a great relief performance to save their season. And the Padres and Dodgers pulled off one of the great thrillers of October.

Who owned October on October 7?

Each winning team for every post season game gets a pitcher and a hitter who earn a full WOO(Who Owns October.)

And at my discretion, I award a 1/2 WOO’S to a worthy player on the losing team.

But the World Series deserves its own stats. WOWS (Who Owns the World Series.)

At the end of the post season, we will see who had the highest WOO total as a pitcher and a hitter. The WOWS total will be kept separately. Each game now counts towards both tallies.

From October 7, 2020 –

GAME 2 of the NL DIVISION SERIES and GAME 3 of the AL DIVISION SERIES

Receiving 1 WOO

Ian Anderson struck out 8 Marlins in 5 2/3 shutout innings to earn the 2-0 decision for the Braves.

Randy Arozarena reached base 4 times, including his 3rd October homer as the Rays doubled up the Yankees, 8-4.

Travis d’Arnaud homered again to give the Braves the first run in their 2-0 victory over Miami.

Liam Hendriks gave Oakland an old school relief effort by throwing the final 3 innings, allowing 1 hit, no runs, no walks and struck out 4 Astros to earn the 9-7 win.

Clayton Kershaw walked no batters in 6 innings, earning the 6-5 decision for the Dodgers over the Padres.

Charlie Morton held the mighty Yankee attack to 1 earned run and 1 unearned run over 5 as the Rays took command of the series with an 8-4 win.

Chad Pinder got 3 hits including a series saving 3 run homer, driving in 4 altogether to power the A’s past the Astros, 9-7.

Corey Seager doubled twice and singles, scoring 2 and driving in 2 as the Dodgers topped the Padres in a 6-5 thriller.

Receiving 1/2 WOO

Dan Altavilla held the Dodgers scoreless, striking out 2 in his inning, but the Padres comeback came up just short, 6-5.

José Altuve got 3 hits including a homer in the Astros 9-7 loss to the A’s.

Brian Anderson doubled and walked but could not be driven in as the Marlins were blanked 2-0 by the Braves.

Michael King gave the Yankees two innings of shutout relief but it was too little too late as the Rays held on to the 8-4 win.

Pablo López fanned 7 Braves in 5 innings, walking none. But 2 solo home runs sunk the Marlins, 2-0.

Manny Machado homered and walked in the Padres 6-5 loss to the Dodgers.

Andre Scrubb gave the Astros a chance by holding the A’s scoreless in the 8th. But Houston could not take advantage and dropped the 9-7 slugfest.

Giancarlo Stanton homered again and added another hit but the Yankees could not stop the Rays in the 8-4 final.

GAME 3 of the AL WILD CARD SERIES

GAME 2 of the NL WILD CARD SERIES

Receiving 1 WOO

Ian Anderson struck out 9 in 6 shutout innings as the Braves blanked the Reds, 5-0.

Ronald Acuña Jr. broke a scoreless tie with an RBI double, going 3 for 5 as the Braves finished their sweep of the Reds, 5-0.

Liam Hendriks struck out the side in the 9th to preserve the 6-4 final and clinch the A’s Wild Card Series victory over the White Sox.

Clayton Kershaw struck out 13 batters in 8 shutout innings to lead the Dodgers past Milwaukee, 3-0.

Mookie Betts hit a 2 run double that gave the Dodgers wiggle room in their 3-0 clincher over Milwaukee.

Adrian Morejon helped stop the Cardinal attack woith 4 critical outs that set up the Padres dramatic comeback in their 11-9 win.

Chad Pinder came off the bench and reached base 3 times, including the go ahead 2 run single that pushed the A’s past the White Sox, 6-4 and into the Division Series.

Fernando Tatís Jr. woke the Padres offense up with a 3 run homer in the 6th and put the game away with a 2 run homer in the 7th as San Diego stunned the Cardinals, 11-9.

Receiving 1/2 WOO

Luis Castillo fanned 7 Braves in 5 1/3 innings, allowing only 1 run. But the Reds were shutout and eliminated 5-0.

Garrett Crochet struck out the first two batters he faced, wiggling out of a first inning jam. But an injury forced him from the game that the White Sox came up short in 6-4 against Oakland.

Freddy Galvis singled and walked but the Reds were blanked by the Braves, 5-0.

Austin Gomber bailed out Wainwright with 1 1/3 innings of relief starting in the 4th. The Cardinal bullpen melted down and handed the 11-9 win to the Padres.

Adrian Houser gave the Brewers 2 innings of shutout relief in their season ending 3-0 loss to Los Angeles.

Luis Robert hit a massive upper deck home run and got another hit but the White Sox came up short against Oakland, 6-4.

Luis Urías reached base twice but the Brewers were blanked by the Dodgers, 3-0.

Kolten Wong drove in 4 runs, 2 on a homer, in the Cardinals 11-9 loss to the Padres.
