SF Giants Magic Number is 43

Woe is the Giant fan.
They lost Melky and their season is lost.

What can they possibly do?

How about WIN? Their destiny is still in their hands, and as I pointed out in Bleacher Report, the last month and a half of their schedule is super soft.

43 is the Magic Number. If they win the games they are supposed to win, the Division will be theirs, Melky or not.

GIANTS MAGIC NUMBER IS 128

A little more than a month ago, the Giants were 1 game above .500 and seven games behind the Dodgers.

12 days ago, the Giants were 5 games out of first place.

This morning, Giants fans will wake up knowing their team is in first place by themselves.
On the heels of Madison Bumgarner’s 1 hit masterpiece, the Giants have climbed into the penthouse by themselves.

Any combination of Giants wins and Dodgers losses equaling 128 will clinch the NL West for the Giants.

Begin the countdown!

The Orioles Magic Number is 129

Here we are almost at Mother’s Day. Who is on top of the AL East? The Red Sox? The Yankees? The Rays? The Blue Jays?
Nope.
It’s the Baltimore Orioles. at 21-12, only the Rangers are better in the American League. And they can expand their lead with another win against the Rays.
The Magic Number is 129 to eliminate the Rays. Any combination of Orioles wins and Tampa Bay losses equaling 129 will give the Orioles the crown.
128 would eliminate the Yankees and 127 would put away the Blue Jays?
The Red Sox? Don’t worry about them, Baltimore. They are doing it themselves.
So let’s see some more butts in the seats, Orioles fans!
And smile like those smiling bird hats.
(I told you changing back to the old school hats was a good idea!)
