Well the balls are not juiced anymore and pitching seems to be king again. Are we on our way to a New York vs. Washington World Series?

Each winning team for every post season game gets a pitcher and a hitter who earn a full WOO(Who Owns October.)

And at my discretion, I award a 1/2 WOO’S to a worthy player on the losing team.

But the World Series deserves its own stats. WOWS (Who Owns the World Series.)

At the end of the post season, we will see who had the highest WOO total as a pitcher and a hitter. The WOWS total will be kept separately. Each game now counts towards both tallies.

A complete description of the rules can be found HERE.

From October 12
2019 ALCS Game 1
2019 NLCS Game 2:

Receiving 1 WOO

Max Scherzer took a no hitter into the 7th, finishing with 7 shutout innings, allowing 1 hits and 2 walks while striking out 11 Cardinals to earn the 3-1 decision for Washington.

Masahiro Tanaka dominated the mighty Astros lineup with 6 innings of 1 hit shutout ball, walking one and striking out 4 in the Yankees 7-0 victory..

Michael A. Taylor went 2 for 4 with a homer to help the Nationals top the Cardinals 3-1.

Gleyber Torres singled, doubled and homered, driving in 5 runs to lead the Yankees offense to a 7-0 shutout of the Astros.

Receiving 1/2 WOO

Zack Greinke did not walk a batter over 6 innings holding the Yankee offense to 3 runs. But the Astros could not put up a fight and were shutout, 7-0.

José Martínez once again provided most of the Cardinals offense off the bench with an RBI pinch hit double in the 3-1 loss to the Nationals.

Adam Wainwright pitched into the 8th, striking out 11 Nationals over 7 1/3 innings but took the hardluck 3-1 decision for St. Louis.

Colter Peterson – St. Louis Post Dispatch

Let’s see owned baseball on April 8, 2019

Earning Full WOBs:

Edwin Encarnación hit 2 homers in the same inning helping the red hot Seattle Mariners overcome an initial 4-2 hole into a 13-5 thrashing of the Royals.

Rhys Hoskins put the Phillies ahead for good with a solo homer and then added another to top the Nationals, 4-3.

Miles Mikolas held the mighty Dodger offense to 3 runs over 6 innings and gave the Cardinals a chance to come from behind and take the 4-3 final.

Blake Snell struck out 11 White Sox while walking none over 6 innings to earn the 5-1 decision for the Rays.

Earning 1/2 WOBs:

Jhoulys Chacín pitched into the 7th, finishing with 3 hits and 3 runs over 6 1/3 innings, walking 3 Angels. The Brewers bats would let him down in the hard luck 5-2 loss.

Aaron Judge reached base 4 times, including an opposite field homer, but the Yankees came up short against Houston, 4-3.

Mike Moustakas singled and homered, scoring both Brewers runs in their 5-2 defeat by the Angels.

Masahiro Tanaka gave up just 3 hits, 2 walks and 1 run over 6 solid innings, striking out 3 Houston batters. The usually reliable Yankee bullpen lost the 4-3 final.
