Earning Full WOBs:

Trevor Bauer went all seven innings in his double header start, allowing 2 hits and no runs while striking out 7 to earn the 4-0 decision for the Reds.

Chris Bassitt struck out 7 Mariners in 5 2/3 innings to get the 3-2 victory for Oakland.

Aaron Judge hit his fifth and sixth homers in 8 games, the second shot putting the Yankees up for good in their 9-7 topping of the Red Sox.

Daniel Murphy went 4 for 4 with a homer to power the Rockies past San Diego, 9-6.

Earning 1/2 WOBs:

Tyler Alexander would set a record for most consecutive strikeouts by a reliever when he fanned 9 straight Reds. He would an 10 in 3 2/3 shutout, no hit innings but not are in the decision as the Tigers bullpen lost the 4-3 final.

Xander Bogaerts homered twice and added two other hits but the Red Sox dropped the 9-7 slugfest to the Yankees.

Merrill Kelly held the Dodgers to 3 runs over 6  innings but the Diamondbacks were blanked, 3-0.

Kevin Newman got a pair of hits and drove in the Pirates only run with a solo homer in their 2-1 defeat by the Cubs.

Earning Full WOBs:

 

Javier Báez homered twice and added another hit as the Cubs slugged past the Reds, 8-5.

Josh Donaldson got 2 hits, including a homer, as the Twins doubled up the Cardinals, 6-3.

Merrill Kelly took a no hitter into the 7th and pitched into the 8th, finishing with 7 2/3 innings, 3 hits and 1 run as the Diamondbacks topped Texas, 4-1.

Tanner Roark struck out 5 Nationals in 5 innings, walking none to earn the 5-1 decision for the Blue Jays.

Earning 1/2 WOBs:

Tim Anderson went 3 for 5 with a homer and 3 runs scored in the White Sox 4-3 loss to the Indians.

Colten Brewer struck out 4 Mets and allowed just 1 hit over 2 2/3 shutout innings of relief but it was too little too late as the Red Sox fell, 8-3.

Nicholas Castellanos got 2 hits, including a home run, but the Reds dropped the 6-3 game to the Cubs.

Connor Menez threw 3 perfect innings, striking out 3 Padres but the Giants were defeated, 5-3.

Who Owned Baseball – April 1, 2019

Let’s see owned baseball on April 1, 2019

Earning Full WOBs:

Brandon Belt homered to get the Giants on the board and then hit a 2 run double to put them ahead for good as the beat the Dodgers, 4-2.

David Hess took a no hitter into the 7th and finished with 6 1/3 hitless shutout innings, walking 1 and striking out 8 Blue Jays. The Orioles bullpen would blow the no hitter and the shutout but not the game, which was a 6-5 final.

Kevin Kiermaier hit an RBI double and a 3 run homer as the surging Rays crushed the Rockies, 7-1.

Merrill Kelly threw 6 strong innings, allowing 3 runs while striking out 3 Padres to earn the 10-3 decision for the Diamondbacks.

 

 

Earning 1/2 WOBs:

Chris Archer struck out 8 Cardinals over 5 shutout innings. The Pirates bullpen would ultimately lose the 6-5 game in 11.

Randal Grichuk broke up a no hitter with his 7th inning homer and later hit a double in the Blue Jays 6-5 loss to Baltimore.

Colin Moran reached base 4 times, doubled and homered, driving in 3, but it was not enough as the Pirates dropped their home opener to the Cardinals, 6-5.

Ivan Nova held the Indians to 1 run over 7 strong innings, allowing 6 hits and 1 walk. He did not factor into the decision as the White Sox came up short, 5-3.
