A COMBINED NO HITTER CREDITED TO THE LATE TYLER SKAGGS

It is impossible to NOT be moved by the entire night’s tribute to Tyler Skaggs. The opening ceremony was touching. Mike Trout’s homer in the first seemed perfect.

But that was child’s play to the game on the mound.

It was fitting that it was a combined no hitter. No one pitcher could take the full credit tonight. Taylor Cole threw the first two innings. Felix Peña threw the final 7. But Skaggs was there for all 9.

Now to update the list.

Let’s go Padres. It doesn’t have to be as emotional as tonight’s Angels game. Just throw a no hitter!

MikeFiers

Ben Margot – AP

IT IS A ONCE IN A LIFETIME GAME FOR MIKE FIERS… AGAIN

Think of the great pitchers who have NEVER thrown a no hitter, like Greg Maddux or Roger Clemens or Steve Carlton.

Well Mike Fiers not only has thrown one… last night he had number two. Sure everyone was a little groggy in a night where the lights did not work in Oakland, but it was a No No in Oakland for the second straight year.

Now to update the list.

Mike Fiers has 2 more no hitters than every game pitched a by San Diego Padres starter combined

My Love of No Hitters, Even Combined Ones – @LockedOnMLB – April 5, 2019

Locked-On-MLB-Podcast-BGNo other sport can match the excitement over each moment that a no hitter can create. A game in early April got me so excited that I sat in my car parked in the driveway listening to two teams I do not care about, just for the possibility of a no hitter.
