San Jose has a super old fashioned minor league park. It was the first place I saw a minor league game. I saw Ken Griffey Jr. play there back in 1988. It has a great barbecue and as this pic shows, you get super close to the game.

Giants fans love it as many of the players who would go on to play for World Series winners in San Francisco passed through there.

I can wax romantic about it. But it is also blocking the A’s to moving to San Jose, where they SHOULD be playing.

It is a great old park… but there should be a great NEW park in San Jose to end the A’s debacle in Oakland!

Back in 2008, I took my kids to their first professional baseball game. It was between the San Jose Giants and the Stockton Ports. I thought it would be a monumental day in our lives.

They didn’t care. They were more interested in climbing the fence and getting onto the field.

They didn’t make it.
