Who Owned October (WOO) – Updated for October 23, 2022

Tim Nwachukwu/Getty Images

Both pennants were clinched on Sunday and both LCS MVPs put their stamps on the finales.

Who owned October on October 23?

Each winning team for every post season game gets a pitcher and a hitter who earn a full WOO(Who Owns October.)

And at my discretion, I award a 1/2 WOO’S to a worthy player on the losing team.

But the World Series deserves its own stats. WOWS (Who Owns the World Series.)

At the end of the post season, we will see who had the highest WOO total as a pitcher and a hitter. The WOWS total will be kept separately. Each game now counts towards both tallies.

A complete description of the rules can be found HERE.

From October 23, 2022 –

NL CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES GAME 4

AL CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES GAME 4

Receiving 1 WOO

Bryce Harper got a pair of hits including a dramatic 2 run, come from behind home run that pushed the Phillies into the World Series past San Diego, 4-3.

Jeremy Pena hit a game tying 3 run homer, and added another single and another run scored to seal his ALCS MVP in the Astros 6-5 win over the Yankees.

Ryan Pressly threw a 1-2-3 ninth inning to clinch the ALCS for the Astros with a 6-5 final over the Yankees.

Zack Wheeler threw 6 strong innings, striking out 8 Padres and setting up the Phillies 4-3 NLCS clincher.

Receiving 1/2 WOO

Harrison Bader went 3 for 5 with a home run and 3 runs scored but the Yankees were edged by Houston, 6-5.

Yu Darvish kept the Padres pennant hopes alive with 6 solid innings, allowing 2 runs. San Diego’s bullpen lost the lead, the game and the series to Philadelphia, 4-3.

Clay Holmes kept the Astros in check with 2 2/3 shutout innings of relief but it was too little and too late as the Yankees were swept in the 6-5 final.

Juan Soto homered and walked in the Padres 4-3 loss to the Phillies.
