Gerrit Cole and the Astros Take Control while Strike Zones Make No Sense: Locked on MLB, October 28, 2019

DF92BBE1-679C-4A19-B4FF-A99E16E74687Give the Astros credit. They did everything right to take control of the World Series. We do need some strikezone clarity. It alters reality if we do not.

Who Owns October and Who Owns the 2019 World Series Game 5 (#WOO and #WOWS) Tallies Updated For October 27, 2018

MORE-COLE

Brett Coomer

Well, the Astros have made this Series their own. Gerrit Cole did not disappoint, nor did the Astros bats as they head back to Houston a game away from the title.

Each winning team for every post season game gets a pitcher and a hitter who earn a full WOO(Who Owns October.)

And at my discretion, I award a 1/2 WOO’S to a worthy player on the losing team.

But the World Series deserves its own stats. WOWS (Who Owns the World Series.)

At the end of the post season, we will see who had the highest WOO total as a pitcher and a hitter. The WOWS total will be kept separately. Each game now counts towards both tallies.

A complete description of the rules can be found HERE.

From October 27
2019 World Series Game 5:

Receiving 1 WOO

Yordan Alvarez collected 3 hits including a 2 run homer that gave the Astros the lead for good in a 7-1 final in Washington.

Gerrit Cole kept the Nationals on their heels with 7 innings of 3 hit ball, allowing 1 run while striking out 9 to earn the 7-1 decision for the Astros.

Receiving 1/2 WOO

Joe Ross was pressed into an emergency start with one day’s rest and gave the Nationals 5 innings. He let up two critical Houston home runs and took the 7-1 loss.

Juan Soto homered and collected another hit to provide the Nationals with virtually all of their offense in the 7-1 defeat by Houston.
